Why we built this

IFTA filings are quarterly tax compliance that most owner-operators dread. The math is not hard. The data collection is. You log mileage by state, you log fuel by state, you reconcile receipts that have been crumpled in a cup holder for three months, and you punch numbers into a form that has not changed visually since 1998. Then you do it again next quarter.

Most existing tools are aimed at fleet managers with dispatch systems and accounting departments. They are expensive, dense with features owner-operators never use, and require committing to a workflow that does not match how independent drivers actually keep records. The alternative, paying an accountant $150 to $300 per quarter for ten minutes of data entry, adds up to four figures a year.

fueltax.app is the version of this we wanted to exist. Snap a photo of a receipt, drop in a CSV from your ELD, watch the calculations happen, and download a filing-ready PDF. No annual contracts, no dispatcher seats, no training videos. The free trial covers a full quarter of logging so you can decide whether it earns its keep before you ever pay.
